Active duty servicemembers should be allowed to carry firearms for protection. Terrorist groups such as ISIS have publicly threatened the lives of servicemembers and their families. Active shootings have happened on military installations many times in recent years. Security forces/Police have a slow average response time of 9 minutes. Each Servicemember receives firearms training at least once in their careers. Allow those who protect us to protect themselves.
