We trust our active duty soldiers to defend this nation and to carry weapons into battle abroad. We should grant them that same trust while serving at home.
Some in the Federal Government have stated that the homeland is part of the battlefield. While I disagree with that statement, If that is the position of the Federal Government then our soldiers should not be disarmed while on the battlefield, nor should the citizens for that matter.
We must repeal the "Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 5210.56" and any other law restricting our active duty military personnel from being armed. This will ensure that our active duty soldiers are prepared to defend our nation from threats both foreign and domestic at all times.
