ALLOW AG TEACHERS TEACHER FORGIVENESS

This petition has been created with the intentions of the bill "Tagged For Ag" to be seen by the President, Senate, and House of Representatives. The bill was made in order to bring attention to the lack of agricultural education teachers in the United States. It seeks for agriculture programs to be added to the Teacher Forgiveness Program that allows teachers to be reimbursed for their student loans after teaching for five years. The issue has grown steadily throughout the years to a point where many agriculture programs in schools are being shut down because there is no teacher for their class. Agriculture is an important industry as it employs more than 20 percent of the United States work industry and teachers are the ones that inspire students to obtain agriculture jobs in the future.
