The U.S. denied asylum to Saudi Arabia's former first secretary of the Saudi consulate in Los Angeles because it may disrupt US-Saudi relations.
They understand full well that this could result in his being put to death, because he is gay, but the disruption in relations apparently isn't worth the life of one innocent person.
This is ridiculous. We should give asylum to all people who are being persecuted especially for something that they can't control and that is no fault of their own. And we should show the best face of this country that we can show, that we stand up for the little person, not just the people who can pay us the best.
