I petition to allow all active duty military over the age of 21 to carry a firearm whether concealed or open on any military installation after proper qualification on sidearm to be carried. Once proper qualification with pistol to be carried the military member will be allowed to carry their approved sidearm on an installation with proper identification and possibly less than lethal ammunition. This will alleviate the pressure put on Military police, and will give a much larger chance to stop active shooters on base. The security on all installations will be exponentially greater. In deployed locations we already are trusted to carry rifles to protect that base so why are we not allowed to do the same at our home locations?
