Pharmacist working in a collaborative practice agreement with physicians or seeing diabetic patients as a CDE need the ablity to change and prescribe inapproptiate or safer medications for their patients. Current diabetes patients in the USA are undertreated and will create a tremendous healthcare burden on Medicare and Medicaid. Pharmacist will need access to all EMR records as do physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
