Allow all legal resident citizens who pay taxes to vote.

Created by D.T. on July 16, 2013

Currently, under federal law, states are only required to offer those who are 18 the "right" to vote. I petition the Obama administration to start a national dialogue on whether this is fair. This country was founded on the idea that those who are taxed by their government should have control, and this principle is fundamental in a democracy. There are many citizens of this country who are under 18 who are members of our national workforce and have no say in our elections or political processes. If they are old enough to hold a job and pay taxes, aren't these citizens old enough to vote? They are being taxed without representation, and their money is used in processes they may or may not support.
