Allow all members of the military Reserve Componenet (RC) to utilize TRS even if they are a Federal Employee.

Created by R.L. on May 22, 2014

ALL members of the military Reserve Component (RC) should be allowed to purchase health insurance via TRICARE Reserve Select. Being a Federal Employee should not disqualify someone from this benefit. The FEHB coverage is more expensive and the coverage is sub-par to that of the TRICARE Reserve Select. If a soldier completes their duties to be eligible for this benefit they should be able to utilize this benefit no matter what.

TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) is a premium-based TRICARE health plan offered for purchase by members of the military Reserve Component (RC) and their families. TRS coverage is available for purchase by eligible RC members who were called or ordered to active duty, under Title 10, in support of a contingency operation on or after September 11, 2001.
