We the people of the United States live in a prosperous country that gives us the opportunity to achieve our dreams of success. Those dreams of success can also be shattered when an American citizen is branded a convicted felon.
A great portion of felony convictions are for nonviolent drug offenders that have to go through life with a felony record that will follow them for life in terms of employment and education. Every state has different regulations on the process of having felony records expunged,but not every state gives expungements.
The purpose of this petition is to request that all 50 states give nonviolent drug offenders the opportunity to have their records expunged to give them a better chance of finding employment and continuing with their lives.
