allow all people paying student loans to deduct interest without exception.

Created by D.A. on December 12, 2014

With college costs rising, and student debt a growing burden on generations of borrowers, changes must be made to the student loan system. Presently, some student loan borrowers are allowed to deduct paid interest from their taxes, but there are unnecessary exceptions to this rule. For instance, people who are married and filing separately are not allowed to deduct student loan interest, and those suffering under the largest burdens are unable to deduct the full amount of interest paid.
We call on the President to support changing the tax code to make all paid student loan interest deductible.
