One of the fall-outs of the economic crisis and the disappearing middle class is that many former home owners move to condos and other types of association-run housing. The downside of choosing this more affordable type of housing is that it tends to come with no-pet deed restrictions. People are forced to downsize their home and have to leave their beloved pets - leave part of their families behind. Many thousands of perfectly adoptable cats and dogs get eutthanized while there are people who do not have the freedom to adopt them.
