Presently Stock Option Traders must have a minimum of $25,000.00 to day trade stock options under the FINRA (NASD) Rule 2520 as initiated by the SEC. Options traders with less than $25,000 in their accounts are given the perverse incentive to hold onto losing postions because of the Pattern Day Trading Rule(PTDR). Stock options were never meant to be treated the same as stock shares, and the average stock investor is not a day trader. We ask that the President see to it that the SEC enacts a level playing field for day trading stock option traders. Options are derivative contracts, not ordinary stock shares, and that speculators of all wealth levels should be given the same opportunity to day trade stock options. No more FINRA NASD Rule 2520 for all stock option day traders.
