All transsexuals, no matter where they were born, should be allowed to change the gender marker on their birth certificate. Not allowing the change allows for individuals to be outed in most situations which can lead to harassment. It also doesn't allow them to live full time as the sex they identify with.
All but a select few states allow transsexuals to change their gender marker on their birth certificate. There is no equality when one individual can make the changes because the state they were born in allows it, while another individual is denied an important part of their identity. The state that transsexual individuals are born in is out of their control so they shouldn't be denied rights because of their birth place.
Everyone deserves to live with the same rights!
