There is much debate on the government's strategies for where tax dollars are allocated. This becomes a divisive issue during election time. We accept that a functioning government requires the collection of taxes in order to operate. Rather than be left with limited means of control over where our hard earned money however, we propose a simple method of allowing the American people to set their priorities, thus truly voting with their dollars and empowering them with lobbying powers limited to a few.
General allocation categories can be added to tax forms which would allow for voluntary selection of sectors within society by percentage amounts. Tax funds from this individual would be dispersed accordingly.
An added benefit would be up-to-date metrics on the country's priories.
