If common sense gun control legislation as proposed by the Obama administration can't be passed by Congress, the American people should be allowed to cast votes to pass it.
In 1999, Wayne LaPierre said the NRA supported universal background checks. Now the NRA is an extreme group that supports gun manufacturers, not people's interests.
Congress has proven to be unreliable when called to do the right thing. They don't support their constituent's beliefs or what is right for the good of America. Instead, they cater to those that donate the most money (i.e. the NRA), regardless of how it affects 99% of America.
I'm angry about the tragedies that have occurred. Allow the people of America to speak their minds and vote on this legislation if Congress can't get the job done!
