Allow Americans to save Social Security.

I am asking Americans to donate up to 5% of their social security payments for up to five years back to the Federal Government if, and only if, the funds are placed in the Social Security fund and the government agrees to stop raiding the trust fund to pay its bills. This donation should be regarded as a charitable deduction. I believe that the American people are willing to be helpful as long as they can believe that their efforts will be useful. The American people have not been asked to participate in the sacrifices made by our brothers and sisters in the military over these past 10 years. We can only be as strong as our capacity to share the burden of being the best country in the world.
