State standardized testing has taken the place of education. In San Antonio Texas the teacher's begin "teaching the test" for the second half of the school year. Elementary children are warned that they will be held back over failing the test and children are full of anxiety and nervousness over a test. The testing atmosphere is only supportive to children who need to test in absolutely quiet, no movement allowed, sterile environment. But what is done for the child that needs background noise or "white sounds" or the child that can't stand sitting for hours on end, reading a test in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade! They are not LEARNING they are being taught how to stress out and take a test to determine if they have learned! This only determines if they can learn in one particular format!
