The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run (AC100) has been a community event held in the San Gabriel Mountains for the past 29 years. It brings together runners and volunteers to help maintain trails and run 100 miles on foot from Wrightwood to Altadena, CA. Since 1985, over 20,000 hours of trail work have been completed by AC100. When the President established the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, the Angeles National Forest changed their position on allowing the foot race to use the trails that they maintain in the Pleasant View Ridge Wilderness. We petition that the President allow an exception for AC100 to use these trails and to continue its conservation efforts in maintaining the trails and using them to build character and camaraderie through running and volunteering.
