The Star Spangled Banner says "Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?" Land OF THE FREE. The Declaration of Independence says, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." How does one live in the land of the free, and pursue happiness, if they are not free to pursue the commitment that other members of our society are able to pursue. If you take away the liberties of some because of their sexual orientation, then you are blatantly saying that all men are not created equal.
