Public schools are forced to cut their budgets every year. This leads to teachers loosing jobs, and school not having enough money to buy books for the children they teach.
This has caused schools to loose a lot of programs that has kept kids in school and out of trouble. Schools loose sports teams and drama clubs. Art classes and technology classes. This causes students to loose their creative edge and a outlet for their imaginations to run wild.
That causes kids to turn to new ways of expressing themselves. Examples of this is gang violence or destruction of public property through graffiti or violence.
All of this could be avoided if public education had the funding to continue extra activities or maybe just extra books to expand their students lives and save their futures.
