allow bootloaders of phones and tablets to be unlocked after the device has passed its "End Of Life" date.

Created by K.M. on February 18, 2015

Mobile phones and tablets are now common place in the United States. Phone and Tablet manufacturers are busy cranking out newer models of devices every year however with the introduction of newer devices, older devices are dropped from the manufacturers support umbrella. These older devices often collect dust in a drawer or are tossed out in the garbage.

This is a shame as a single 2 year old mobile phone possesses the same amount of computational power as an 8 year old computer and could be put to use in several ways. Old phones and tablets can be used in the educational field to teach students about technology. Students can learn to code and create several unique and innovative inventions with these devices. The problem is that this is handicapped if the bootloader is locked.
