The use of nasal strips in horse racing has become a safe and common practice. Many major sports allow the use of nasal strips for athletes, including the National Football League (NFL), there are even some jockeys wear them to assist with breathing during horse racing. The ban on the use of nasal strips for thoroughbred horse racing is unfounded. New York is the only state in the country with such a ban for thoroughbreds, even New York allows it for harness racing.
