Allow citizens to opt out of Social Security and Medicare. Give each citizen total control of their financial future.

This petition is for people who believe their retirement plans should be solely up to themselves. If an individual believes they can plan for their future better than the government, this petition could be the boost they need to get started. No longer would Social Security or Medicare be deducted from your salary. Instead, the funds can be invested in an account of the individual's choosing. Health care would also be solely up to the individual. The down fall to this idea is that after opting out of the programs, the government will only be required to pay accordingly depending on your investment in it's programs. On the other hand, the extra income gained can be drawing interest and depends on no one's contribution but your own. Retirement at whatever age it becomes affordable.
