In some states anyone convicted of a misdemeanor can seal there record in order to gain employment. But, in some states this isn't possible. This is a form of discrimination if the particular person has a proven track record of rehabilitation, has paid their debt to society, and the convictions are in the past. A record is just a 2nd punishment. I did a door to door petition in VA on this issue and for every no I was able to get 4 to 5 signatures (yes). As a republican we want people working and not relying on the government and as a democrat we want what the majority supports. this cause is 100% bipartisan. please make it a law that all states have to grant the right to seal ones record after 10 years of last misd. conviction to gain employment. this will lower crime and up the economy.
