Allow the citizens of Coos, Douglas, Curry, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath and Lake Counties in S. Oregon & Del Norte, Siskiyou, Modoc, Humboldt, Trinity, Shasta, Lassen, Mendocino, Tehama, Glenn, Butte & Plumas Counties in N. California to declare separation from their home states and join together to form a new state given the name Jefferson.
Inadequate representation has led to over-regulation of basic activities, having a negative impact on local economies, unfairly targeting historically viable industries such as logging, mining & ranching which depend on utilization of natural resources. In addition, the distinct political split existing between the city and rural populations prevents rural jurisdictions from enacting legislation that provides direct benefit to their communities.
