Considering the fact the state of Louisiana has received the required 25,000 signatures for it's petition of secession to be forwarded to the Obama administration, a counter petition is needed to express the feelings of the citizens of the greater New Orleans metro area.
While a great many citizens in the New Orleans area(especially the Northshore) were disheartened by the results of the election, we realize that without federal funding, the state of Louisiana would fall to a third world "Banana Republic" within a matter of years.
