College students should be allowed to carry pepper spray, which is NOT a weapon nor is it lethal, as a means to protect themselves from people who would hurt them. Pepper spray is, by definition: a nonlethal aerosol spray made with the pepper derivative oleoresin capiscum; used to cause temporary blindness and incapacitate an attacker.
College Security should not have the right to tell us that we are not allowed to have it.
