Currently Service Members are not allowed to carry firearms on federal property unless they are in a law enforcement capacity. This petition requests that the President authorizes Commanders O-5 and higher to allow subordinates in the grade of E-6 or higher to carry concealed firearms while in uniform on federal property. This would assist in preventing casualties in terrorist attacks. Commanders would have the authority to authorize conceal carry on a case by case basis.
*It is asinine that Soldiers who have served multiple deployments in high contact areas cannot defend themselves at work, we carried M-4s for multiple years in Afghanistan and Iraq, but we cannot carry a simple pistol while conducting our job stateside.
