Allow combat veterans, suffering from PTSD and guidance from their doctor, to use medical cannabis with federal immunity

Created by R.P. on January 18, 2013

Cannabis has been well documented to lower anxiety when used in the proper context. Many combat veterans returning with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder turn to alcohol as a means to lower their anxiety and reduce stressful relapses (flashbacks). Alcohol is a known danger for anyone suffering from PTSD as it can turn anxiety into severe depression, thus leading to suicide.
While under their doctor's care, I petition the Obama Administration to provide relief for our returning veterans by allowing them to be prescribed cannabis as a means of supplemental treatment.
Furthermore, while our veterans are seeking the mental health they so desperately need and deserve, I petition that they be protected from any state and federal drug charges related to cannabis.
