On April 10, 2014, CBS Corporation announced Stephen Colbert, current host of the Comedy Central late-night political satire/talk show The Colbert Report, will be replacing current host of The Late Show, David Letterman, when Letterman retires in 2015.

As Colbert assumes the duties as host of The Late Show, there will be a vacancy in the time slot at Comedy Central from 11:30 p.m. to midnight.

We the people of the United States of America, hearby petition the Obama Administration to sign an order that would allow Jon Stewart, current host of The Daily Show which airs on Comedy Central from 11 to 11:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday, to assume the full 60-minute time slot from 11 p.m. to midnight, Monday thru Thursday, effective the conclusion of Colbert's final broadcast on Comedy Central.
