Allow for a common sense approach to gun control

Any American citizen who can legally and responsibly own a weapon should be allowed to own the weapon of their choosing. Current laws and future amendments would govern who can legally own said weapons, and the owner and custodian of the weapon would be held responsible for any actions that the weapon may be involved in. In the event the weapon is stolen, it should be reported immediately and a fine should be imposed on the owner.
