Allow Compensated Time Off (“Comp Time”)

Created by J.N. on February 13, 2014

Allow Compensated Time Off (“Comp Time”).

Employees who are not exempt from the payment of overtime based on the nature of their duties and responsibilities, should have the ‘option’ to either:
Be paid overtime at time and a half their regular rate of pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week.
OR
Be provided compensatory time off.

For example, if an employee works 10 hours of overtime, the employee in lieu of overtime at a rate of not less than 1 ½, could choose the option to be given 15 hours of compensatory time off.
