As members of the nations military, the guardians of America's future welfare and security are entrusted with making life and death choices when deployed. They are required to undergo training constantly with firearms. By and large, these men and women are the most responsible citizens in the nation. However, when it comes to personal security and the very personal choice to carry a weapon on a military installation, that choice is not their own.
While it is understandable that safety must be taken into consideration, it is a noted fact that owners of legally obtained firearms typically, and as one would expect, are more responsible with this right than any other group. There will always be those who give cause not to be trusted. The question is, why are these people not worthy of trust?
