The founding fathers made their intentions with the second amendment very clear. The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed. While I understand standards are necessary, and not just everyone should be able to attain a firearm, I believe law abiding adults should be allowed to carry. I am nineteen years old, legally in the United States I am an adult, however I do not have the ability to exercise my second amendment right to protect myself. I am upset that the second amendment only applies to me once I turn twenty-one, despite becoming a legal adult at the age of eighteen. I am writing this petition to get the legal age for concealed carry to be lowered to eighteen. Every adult should be allowed their constitutional rights.
