Allow consumers to check their credit reports for free 4 times a year

With the increasing frequency of theft of customer's personally identifiable information from retailers we should be allowed to keep a closer watch on our credit to protect ourselves from identity theft. I propose that we should be allowed to check our credit reports for free 4 times a year, an increase from the current 1 time a year. This would also be beneficial to the banking systems as fraudulent activity could be found more quickly.
