Allow consumers to purchase vehicles directly from automakers.

Dealerships made sense years ago when customers could not educate themselves in these large purchases, however, information is now available to all via the web. Nonetheless, it is still illegal for automakers to sell directly to customers. If we were able to purchase directly, it would cut out the middle-man and reduce prices. Additionally, manufacturers would be able to lower their costs by selling online and these costs could also be passed to end customers. Finally, being able to purchase directly from manufacturers would reduce the need to haggle and negotiate which would mean that those less experienced would not be taken advantage of. This change may have already occurred if it were not for the National Auto Dealers Association, which is one of the largest lobbying groups in the US.
