To allow the controversial issues to be legislated by the States instead of the federal government.

Created by M.S. on December 21, 2012

It is clear that the country is bitterly divided on certain issues such as gun control, abortion, gay marriage, and similar issues. On many of these, like gun control and abortion, there is no middle ground that both sides will agree to. Having these issues on the national stage takes away from more critical issues like the national debt and foreign policy. It's not that these issues are not important but they are not important to the security of our nation as a whole. By legislating these issues at the state and local levels, we give the people more control over the polices implemented. People would be able to move to an area that resonates with their values instead of forcing the entire nation to live by the laws and values of a certain group of people.
