Whereas: The Counties of Salt Lake and Summit have been direct recipients of United States Federal Tax dollars that have stimulated their local economies many times over.
Whereas: The Counties of Salt Lake and Summit have been regarded as places of destination for many people who do not support, or believe in secession from the Union.
Whereas: The Counties of Salt Lake and Summit are often referred to as the "Liberal" areas, and home to the flagship University in the state of Utah, and have little connection to the other areas of this state politically and socially:
We the undersigned ask the Obama administration to allow the Counties of Salt Lake and Summit to remain in the United States of America with all the rights thereto should the State of Utah be allowed secession.
