Allow credit bureaus to notify law enforcement when unusual weapons and ammunition purchase patterns are detected.

Created by J.K. on July 23, 2012

Target store will often know through purchase patterns that a woman is pregnant before her family does. Visa can use similar data to reliably predict divorces before they happen.

Clearly, the sudden purchase of body armor, thousands of rounds of ammunition and multiple military style weapons from an individual with the purchase history of a college student could have and should have triggered a notification to local law enforcement. A background check and social services visit may well have helped prevent the tragic mass murder in Colorado.
