Allow DEERS to extend a college student's ID card until age 23 without losing TRICARE coverage between college semesters

Created by J.J. on June 14, 2013

Whe dependents are not enrolled in college full time they lose TRICARE coverage. Schools will not write a letter of enrollment verification except for the term in which a student is currently enrolled. This causes loss of coverage between semesters and the summer break. It is a hassle to get an ID card reinstated each semester, when the student will be returning back to school. Schools control our money with the letter of verification and TRICARE controls medical coverage with it.
