Allow Diabetics to serve in the military

There are many people with Type one Diabetes that want to serve this great nation. We understand that it is dangerous of us to be in combat, but what we are asking for it to be allowed to do anything that doesn't require combat and is deemed "safe". If People with Type One can be in the police force why can't we do menial work in the Military. The American's with disabilities act should apply to every single job opportunity in The United States. If Mark Thompson who became Diabetic while in the U.S. Army was allowed to say and even Deploy to combat, why can't those who are already Diabetic join.
