Allow direct voting by the American people on Democratic and Republican versions of a bill when compromise fails.

Created by T.H. on September 23, 2011

Distinct visions for the future of our nation and a political process that allows for easy obstruction have made it impossible for our government to deal with the critical issues that we face.

When compromise fails, as it often does nowadays, allow the parties to offer separate versions of a bill to the American people, and let the people choose between them.

Representative Democracy was the most democratic form of government possible in the 18th century, but we have the technology now to offer Americans a greater voice in determining our future. Give us good ideas and let us choose, instead of giving us gridlock or compromises that dissatisfy everyone.
