We propose that Disabled Veterans who are medically discharged from service be allowed to buy into the Tricare military medical insurance program to provide their families with medical coverage. Currently only Veterans that are 100% disabled, Retires, National Guard and Reservists may buy into Tricare. The 2 current military campaigns have resulted in many medical discharges. Due to their disabilities and the state of the economy finding work that provides insurance for their families is terribly difficult. Service related injuries are considered pre-existing conditions prohibiting them from buying private policies and Veteran benefits result in income levels to high to qualify for medicaid. As a result the children of many disabled Veterans are without medical insurance. Support our Vets
