Dental treatments are traumatizing for veterans who suffer from severe psychiatric conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dental Phobia, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Veterans who suffer from these conditions often require dental treatment, but have traumatic experiences during routine dental office visits. Results of the trauma may include having nightmares or reliving episodes of having needles and drills put into their mouths, hearing the high pitch sound of drills and teeth breaking, and having dentists stand over them while the veteran lays in the dental chair feeling pain and fear, feeling helpless and feeling the increasing need to escape. IV sedation and gas is available yet the VA lets veterans suffer! Let's change that by giving vets better sedation and treatment!
