Allow discharge of PRIVATE student loans through bankruptcy. Cap interests rates from lenders on college loans.

Created by C.S. on December 28, 2012

Student loan debt is nearing $1 trillion mark. The statistics don't take into account private student loan debt. Currently private student loan debts cannot be discharged by bankruptcy. Government student loan are capped by a certain percentage of one's paycheck and after 20 years they are forgiven.

I believe legislation should be passed to have both federal student loans and private student loans mirror the same laws. At the very least, have private student loans be able to be discharged by bankruptcy.
