Allow the discharge of student loan debt, without exception or complication, via bankruptcy.

Created by J.F. on January 30, 2013

Student loan debt is crushing us and there is NO relief. The ability to discharge through bankruptcy will hold both the lender and debtor accountable, which will then force accountability in lending practices as a whole. These are unsecured loans, many of which not dissimilar to credit cards. As such, there should be no special protection from bankruptcy. There may have been a time where unscrupulous people were discharging on whims, but that is not the case now. We have a terrible economy, no way to pay, no room to negotiate, and no avenue to defend ourselves. A loan can jump from 25k to over 100k in fees and fines in the span of 3 years, and there is currently nothing we can do about it. We need relief, and we need it now.
