There are thousands of military flights a year that offer space available seats to eligible military members, their dependents, and retirees. This petition creates a seventh category for DOD civilian workers to be selected for space available travel after all others. Military air terminals conduct space available roll calls to destinations around the world and often times do not fill allocated space available seats even after reaching category 6, military retirees. There is not additional expense once the mission is planned, so not taking action can be viewed as fraud, waste, and abuse. This petition provides a travel benefit to DOD civilian workers often referred to civilian soldiers, sailors, airman and marines.
