Our nation is deeply divided largely due to moral issues. It would bring more unity to our country if each state were allowed to choose how it stood on these issues. Abortion, gay rights, gun control, immigration, public display of ten commandments, prayer at public places, etc. It doesn't make any sense that the whole country be forced to abide by laws mostly chosen by a few largley populated areas. It looked like around 95% of the electoral map was red, with the few big cities being blue. Why should basically the whole country be forced to live by policies and laws intended for and chosen by large cities with high crime rates, welfare rates, etc. What works for the inner city isn't necessarialy what works for rural areas where more people have traditional values, slow police response.
