To avoid a violent revolution that could be the natural course of events, the current Whitehouse Administration will need to allow those states who gain enough signatures to put their secession to a vote of the people.

This would be the best alternative to a new civil war.
Lastly, those who wish to condemn another US Citizens right to make a petition or vote to seceed from the US do not recognizing the freedom of each US Citizen.
