The States wishing to secede do not wish to be individual countries; they want to rescue what was once the American Ideology. In order to do so they must break away, and reform with the other union states that haven't become devoured by the feds. Once this new America establishes its economic stability, it will most likely be able to reach out and help the states who are in the most debt. These states in the most debt, want to secede, but cant due to the constant persuasion of federal aid that keeps coming.
